Cipher Wheel - Small - Greek and English

$55.00

This laser engraved cipher wheel from Cryptic Woodworks features English plain text with numbers 1-4 and two cipher texts, runes and English, for creating a wide variety of codes and ciphers. The addition of numbers in the plain text allows the code creator to create numeric shifts in their ciphers or even symbol rotations. The Greek characters are capitalized and since there aren’t enough of those to complete the wheel I added other planetary symbols that pair well with the alphabet. With these Greek letters you can make interesting ciphers sure to baffle code crackers. These make wonderful conversation pieces, desk accessories or additions to a gaming collection. Escape Room creators will also like them.

Just a few of the codes you can create are : shift, multi index, keyword, numeric shift, numeric keyword, numeric rotation. I have videos of using these different techniques available on my Youtube site (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOnWOiDfGR8KpReI8VIIEbQ) The possibilities are limited by only your imagination.

Each cipher wheel is made from high quality Baltic birch plywood (for longevity) with a hardwood walnut edging. The letters are laser engraved and are extremely detailed. The constellations were all hand drawn by me. The edging is finished with Danish oil to enhance it's grain. All the pieces are then given several coats of wipe on polyurethane help them look great and last a long time. Before assembly, the rotating rings are waxed so they turn easily. The rotating wheel is held in place via a bolt that can be removed if adjustments are needed and reassembled.

The cipher wheel comes in a handmade protective bag and includes an instruction booklet on creating 3 types of ciphers (Caesar Shift, Multi-Index, Keyword) along with tips on how to create more.

Each wheel is 6 3/4" across the flat areas, 7 1/4’inches across the tips and about 1" thick (including the knob). These are smaller than my other cipher wheels as laser engraving allows me to work much smaller than when I’m CNC carving.
